Colors of My Blog...

*Update 12-02-09: I decided to change my blog theme to a feeling of which is more *me* - since I am so a lover of things from another time, vintage and antiques.
I decided to leave this post, since some may find the study of color interesting.

Some may think the color scheme a bit wonky, but I love it! According to Kendra Van Wagner, color expert, there were several ancient cultures, including the Egyptians and Chinese, which practiced chromotherapy, or using colors to heal. Chromotherapy is sometimes referred to as light therapy or colorology. It is still used today as a holistic or alternative medicine method. Chromotherapists claim that colors bring about emotional reactions in people. My two favorite colors are Peridot Green, and Magenta (tied closely with Violet).

Within the spectrum of Chromatherapy the color Periodot (light green) represents confidence, connection, awareness of self and others, and self worth. Light Green hues arouse a heightened awareness of our finer nature, our pure goodness, generosity, attuning to our goodness on the outside. Light Green takes us deeper within ourselves showing us the perfection and light that we have always been and always will be. We discover that we are fine just the way we are! Light Green is the more intense form of Green, which resonates at the Heart Chakra.

Magenta is bridge to Spirit, connection with Divine Love, caring in the little things, Love from above, beyond passion into compassion, abundance that is always there. Magenta connects us to what it is like to exist out of our physical bodies as pure Spirit. It is the bardo state, when we have left our physical shells and before we incarnate into a new physical lifetime. Magenta is that in-between place, the place beyond the veil of physical illusion.

Did you know that the color wheel was developed by Sir Isaac Newton in 1672...
